Jerry was raised in Southern California as a boy and moved to Denver Colorado in 1960. He returned to California in 1967 to attend college, graduating in 1971 from Pasadena College with a Bachelors Degree in Business. After two years in the U.S. Army stationed outside of Washington D.C., he received his Honorable Discharge in late 1973.
Jerry started his business career in Denver Colorado in 1973, working several years in various sales and marketing positions including work with two entrepreneurial start-up companies. He entered commercial real estate in 1981 and spent the next eleven years as a commercial real estate broker working both independently and with local real estate developers in marketing office, retail, and investment properties. During this same period, Jerry diversified his personal business interests by purchasing and building several national chain restaurants from Loveland to Colorado Springs Colorado.
In 1992, with a desire to raise his family in a smaller community and with the opportunity to use his knowledge and experience at a small Christian University, Jerry moved from Denver to Nampa Idaho. For the next several years, his work with Northwest Nazarene University involved expanding the physical campus through real estate acquisitions, raising funds for new facilities, and community relations. During this time he became very involved in community and government relations and the Idaho Legislature where he served as a registered Lobbyist for several years.
In 1998, Jerry was appointed to serve the City of Nampa as its Director of Finance and Administration. He held this position until 2000 when his desire to return to private business and commercial real estate resulted in his resignation to form Gunstream Commercial Real Estate.
After eight years of building Gunstream Commercial Real Estate into one of the most respected names in Idaho Commercial Real Estate, the company made a strategic move to join Coldwell Banker Commercial as an Affiliate. On July 31, 2008, Coldwell Banker Commercial GUNSTREAM & Associates was formed with a commitment to make a continued difference in the communities that it serves and to grow the company into one of the most successful commercial real estate brokerage and management organizations in the Pacific Northwest.

Jerry and his wife Georgia live in Nampa. They have five adult children in the area and spend as much time as possible with their seven wonderful grandchildren.
